Bad Vibes

a lop-sided selective colour image with everything black and white except for a very bright lime green house in the background. In the foreground is a WRONG WAY sign on a slanted pole that looks like it's been bent out of shape by being hit with a car.

This is to say: I write this website myself. Essays, code, all of it, by hand. I mean, typing by hand, at least. I don't even copy and paste all of what could easily be done that way; something about typing the punctuation of HTML feels like good exercise, in mind and hand. I am not well trained. I am self-taught, and poorly so, as I am a poor self-teacher. Most of what I know I learned in 1998 and didn't use much for over 20 years. This website isn't a marvel. It's not a feat of technical skill. And I am keeping it that way.

I am against the use of Large Language Models. I am against the companies that profit from it and what's required to maintain it. I think it's making the internet worse. I'm against vibe coding and "AI generated" writing and images. Stop the slop. Stop the abuse, stop the tech CEOs driving it. Stop the US government (for more reasons than just this) and my government too for that fucking matter. Stop the wave of adoption of LLM.

The best way to stop is to not start.
